- 2 teaspoons dried butterfly pea flowers
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 2 thin lemon slices
Instructions
- Heat 1 cup of water until hot but not boiling.
- Add dried butterfly pea flowers to a bowl and pour the hot water over them. Let steep for 5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and allow it to cool completely.
- In a tall glass mix lemon juice, sugar, and cold water until sugar dissolves.
- Fill the glass with ice cubes.
- Slowly pour the cooled butterfly pea tea over the ice to create a layered purple gradient.
- Garnish with lemon slices and serve immediately.
