Description

A refreshing butterfly pea lemonade with a vibrant purple to yellow gradient, combining floral butterfly pea tea with bright citrus lemon flavor over ice.


Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons dried butterfly pea flowers
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 2 thin lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 cup of water until hot but not boiling.
  2. Add dried butterfly pea flowers to a bowl and pour the hot water over them. Let steep for 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the tea and allow it to cool completely.
  4. In a tall glass mix lemon juice, sugar, and cold water until sugar dissolves.
  5. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
  6. Slowly pour the cooled butterfly pea tea over the ice to create a layered purple gradient.
  7. Garnish with lemon slices and serve immediately.
