Description

A fiery and fragrant stir-fry, Spicy Thai Basil Chicken is a quick and flavorful dish made with ground chicken, garlic, chilies, and fresh Thai basil. Perfect for busy weeknights, it’s a crowd-pleaser served over jasmine rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 34 red chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 large red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium red onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves, loosely packed
  • 1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

  1. Heat your wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
  3. Add oil to the hot pan, then sauté garlic and chilies for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add ground chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Stir in sliced red bell pepper and onion. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
  6. Pour in the sauce mixture, stirring well to coat all ingredients.
  7. Add Thai basil leaves and toss until wilted.
  8. Serve hot over jasmine rice or with a fried egg if desired.
