Description
Crispy Thai-style banana spring rolls wrapped in golden wrappers, deep-fried to perfection, and finished with a sweet honey drizzle for the ultimate dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 bananas (ripe but firm)
- 6–8 spring roll wrappers (as needed)
- Oil for frying (enough to deep-fry)
- 2–3 tablespoons honey (for drizzling)
- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, crushed peanuts, or coconut flakes
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and slice them in half crosswise. Cut each half lengthwise to make four quarters per banana. Set aside.
- Place one spring roll wrapper on a clean surface like a diamond. Add one piece of banana near the bottom corner. Fold the bottom corner over the banana and roll it up tightly. Fold in the left and right corners toward the center and continue rolling upward. Seal the top corner with a dab of water. Repeat with remaining bananas.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat (about 160–170°C or 320–340°F). Fry the rolls in small batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2–3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- Arrange on a serving plate, drizzle generously with honey, and top with sesame seeds, crushed peanuts, or coconut flakes. Serve warm and enjoy.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid mushy texture.
- Cover unused spring roll wrappers with a damp towel to prevent drying.
- Maintain oil temperature between 320–340°F for even frying.
- For a lighter version, use an air fryer instead of deep-frying.
- Experiment with toppings like chocolate drizzle or ice cream for variety.
