- 1 large ripe papaya (about 4 cups chopped)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon lime zest
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup crushed ice
- Lime wedges, for garnish
Instructions
- Gather the ingredients.
- Peel 1 large ripe papaya using a knife or vegetable peeler.
- Cut the papaya in half lengthwise and remove the seeds with a spoon.
- Coarsely chop the papaya flesh into chunks.
- Place papaya chunks, milk, lime juice, lime zest, sugar, vanilla extract, and crushed ice into a blender.
- Blend on high speed for 20–30 seconds until smooth and thick.
- Pour into tall frosted glasses and garnish with lime wedges.
Notes
- Use coconut or almond milk for a dairy-free version.
- Adjust sweetness by reducing or replacing sugar with honey or stevia.
- Chill the papaya before blending for an extra refreshing drink.
