A rich, creamy Thai Tea Tres Leches Cake, combining the delicious texture of a tres leches cake with the bold, fragrant flavor of Thai tea.
Ingredients
- Cake flour: 1 cup
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Eggs: 3 large
- Whole milk: 1/2 cup
- Thai tea: 2 tablespoons (strongly brewed)
- Sweetened condensed milk: 1/2 cup
- Evaporated milk: 1/2 cup
- Heavy cream: 1 cup
Instructions
- Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Combine Ingredients: In one bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking powder, and sugar. In another bowl, beat the eggs and whole milk together until smooth.
- Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Assemble the Dish: Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool to room temperature.
- Cook to Perfection: In a separate bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and brewed Thai tea. Once the cake has cooled, poke holes all over the surface.
- Finishing Touches: Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, allowing it to soak in.
- Serve and Enjoy: Top the cake with whipped cream and garnish with chopped pistachios for extra flavor.
Notes
- Be sure to let the cake soak for at least two hours for maximum flavor.
- If you prefer a richer topping, add more whipped cream or a dusting of cinnamon.
- Let the cake cool completely before soaking to prevent it from becoming too soggy.
