Description

Soft and fluffy vegan spiral mantou with a beautiful swirl and lightly sweet flavor, perfect as a snack or side.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon beet powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare steamer and bring water to a gentle simmer.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, warm water, and oil to form a soft dough.
  3. Let the dough rest until soft and slightly risen.
  4. Divide dough and mix beet powder into one portion.
  5. Roll both dough portions flat and stack them.
  6. Roll into a log and slice into equal pieces.
  7. Place in steamer and cook for 15 minutes.
  8. Let rest briefly before serving.
