Chewy Black Sesame Thai Tea Mochi bars with rich roasted sesame flavor, creamy Thai tea notes, and a soft stretchy texture that makes every bite irresistible.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup strong brewed Thai tea, cooled
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/2 cup black sesame paste
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl whisk together glutinous rice flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, coconut milk, Thai tea, melted butter, vanilla extract, and black sesame paste.
  4. Whisk until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  5. Lightly grease the lined baking pan.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top evenly.
  7. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the surface.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes until the top is set and slightly shiny.
  9. Cool completely before slicing into squares.
  10. Serve slightly warm or chilled.
