Description
A bright, tangy, sweet, and savory Thai-inspired salad dressing made with fresh lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, red chili, and cilantro. It comes together in minutes and adds bold flavor to salads, noodles, vegetables, and grilled proteins.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 3 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 small red chili, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, finely chopped
Instructions
- Gather a small mixing bowl, whisk, knife, and a clean jar or serving bowl.
- Whisk together the fresh lime juice, fish sauce, and light brown sugar until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
- Add the sesame oil, finely minced garlic, thinly sliced red chili, and chopped cilantro.
- Stir or whisk until everything is well combined and evenly distributed.
- Let the dressing sit for 10 minutes so the garlic, chili, and cilantro can infuse the liquid.
- Taste and adjust if needed with a little more lime juice, brown sugar, or chili.
- Serve over salad, vegetables, noodles, or grilled chicken, and stir or shake again before using if it has been stored.
Notes
- Use fresh lime juice for the brightest flavor.
- Whisk well so the brown sugar dissolves smoothly.
- Start with less chili if you prefer a milder dressing.
- Store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and shake before serving.
